The Record Service Event form enables you to record a service event against a bill of lading, or bill of lading items associated with a cargo work order. In the Event Type lookup field, N4 listsbuilt-in event types or events of type Unit for which the Orderable check box and the functional area Applicable to Cargo module are selected in the Event Type form. N4 updates the status of the order item in the Cargo Work Order inspector, every time you record a service event.

Prerequisites

Since cargo work orders are always created with status ‘New’, when you record service events, N4 updates the Status of the order items as follows:

To record a service event against a cargo work order:

  1. From the Event Type lookup field, select the event type to be recorded against the BL and BL item.

  1. Select the Bill of Lading.

  2. From the BL Item field, select the required item.

  3. From the Cargo Lot field, select the cargo lot. N4 displays the original and damaged cargo lots.

  4. Optionally, record the Quantity, Quantity Unit, Note, and the Apply Date fields.

By default, N4 displays the current system date in this field.

  1. Click OK.

N4 displays the recorded service event for the selected entity in the History, Events tab in the Cargo Work Order Inspector and in the Event History tab in the Cargo Work Order Item form.
